Support
Support
MeterMind (MeterSnap in the German App Store) is a private project. For questions, bugs or ideas, write to me at info@jaszka.com. I usually reply within a few days, and to requests about your data protection rights within one month at the latest. Please mention your iPhone model and iOS version; I usually do not need meter values or photos.
Scanning tips
- Make sure the light is good and even, and avoid reflections on the meter glass.
- Hold the iPhone straight in front of the register and move the digits into the frame. Hold still briefly until the value appears.
- Check the recognised value and correct it if needed before you accept it. The app warns you if a value looks implausible.
- Digital LCD displays are not yet recognised reliably. In that case, type the value in via “Reading”.
Sync via iCloud
- The app syncs your data automatically via your iCloud. All devices must be signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID and be online.
- New entries can take a few minutes to appear on the other device.
- If the app reports that iCloud sync is not available, it stores data only on this device. Check your iCloud sign-in in the iOS Settings.
Import from Energy Checker
- In Energy Checker, create a backup (.ecbackup) and save it in the Files app.
- In the app, tap the gear icon at the top right and choose “Import data”.
- Tap “Choose file” and pick the backup.
Backup and export
There is currently no export function. Your data is kept on your iPhone and, with iCloud, also in your iCloud, so it comes back on a new iPhone with the same Apple ID.
Deleting data
You delete single readings, meters and tariffs, or everything at once, directly in the app. The steps are described under Deleting data.
